1. Who we are

HuzzahFinder ("we", "us") operates an AI-assisted research platform for collectors of military antiques. This policy explains what data we process and why.

2. Data we collect

• Account data: email address, hashed password (or OAuth identifier), display name.
• Uploaded photos & notes: the images and text you submit for identification, plus any contributions to the public library.
• Identification history: AI-generated results linked to your account so you can revisit them.
• Diagnostic logs: standard request and error logs needed to operate the Service.

3. How we use your data

• To run identifications using AI vision models (currently Google Gemini via the Lovable AI Gateway).
• To improve the reference library and AI accuracy through your feedback and contributions.
• To moderate reported content and maintain platform safety.
• To send you essential service emails (e.g. password resets).

4. Legal bases (GDPR)

We rely on (a) contract to provide the Service you requested, (b) legitimate interest to keep the Service secure, accurate and free of illegal content, and (c) legal obligation where required to comply with local law.

5. Sharing

We share data only with processors needed to run the Service: our backend provider, our AI gateway, our pricing-data source (eBay Browse API), and email delivery. We do not sell your data. Public library contributions are visible to everyone by design.

6. Retention

Account and identification data is kept until you delete your account. Library contributions may be retained after account deletion in anonymised form, since the community depends on them. Reports are kept for audit purposes.

7. Your rights

You can access, correct, export or delete your account data from your account page, and object to processing or lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise rights not available in-app, contact us.

8. Children

The Service is not intended for users under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

9. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies and local-storage entries strictly necessary for authentication and remembering your region preference. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

We may update this policy; material changes will be announced in-app. To exercise your rights or report an issue, use the report form.
